Three main elements will help your admission chances:Jan 14 2012Business - Management and Administration
Three main elements will help your admission chances:

1) Strong essays: Be honest, thoughtful, and creative.

2) Extra-curricular involvement: Pursue your passions! Be active and make a difference in your community. Do what you want to do, not what others want you to do. Explain on your application what you wanted to do, why you wanted to do it, and the actions you took to get there.

3) Teacher recommendations: Develop meaningful relationships with teachers. This will help you when you need to ask that teacher for a recommendation.

Hope that helps and please feel free to reach out to me with questions or concerns! Please email me at Go Blue!

I may not have been the brightest in regardsDec 08 2011Anthropology
I may not have been the brightest in regards to grades and exam scores, but I was diverse in my extra curricular activities. I played many varsity sports, volunteer work and also a job. Michigan wants to see what you can contribute, not just academically, but socially.

I worked a little too hard in high schoolAug 30 2011Other
I worked a little too hard in high school. I had a crazy high GPA. Silly amounts of extracurriculars. My ACT wasn't as high (I have a disability, didn't get extended time, and didn't finish most of the test). I imagine doing well in 2/3 of these categories is enough to get in. Maybe that and good essays. I also have no idea what I am talking about.
ACT: 28 Female
I applied and was acceptedAug 09 2011Engineering Department
I applied and was accepted.
Push your limits and strive for your personal best, but do not trample people along the way. Have good self-esteem without becoming self-involved. Strive for building positive allies and work together for mutual success. If you choose to go to this school, you will need them.

I made sure I was involved in high schoolMay 05 2011Accounting
I made sure I was involved in high school. I definitely made sure I was a member of the NHS and played a leadership role in one of my clubs (I was section leader and first chair of the alto saxophone section of my school's marching band). I also went to Michigan Math and Science Scholars at U-M over the summer before my junior year in high school. It's bonus points at U-M if you participate in any of their summer programs (including their athletic and music ones). There will be a section in the application where you get to check off the summer camps you participated in U-M.
